what thickness of mulch film should I use?
This is a good question. When selecting a plastic mulch film, you should choose a thickness of at least 1 mil. This is the benchmark standard set by the NCRS because it is meant to last half an year or longer. There are other sizes available with more or less thickness, but 1 mil is the average thickness of mulch plastic film.
If you opt for a thinner plastic mulch film , you may find that you will be making a replacement purchase sooner than you would like to. Mulch film that are 0.5 mil or less are often only rated for one to two months.
